Job Description:
Our large government integrator partner is hiring key resources in preparation for a large new program to support Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). These roles will support a critical mission for their customer; maintaining Hosting, Networking, and Tier II Operations in support of a 24x7x365 environment. Remote flexibility, but needs to be located in the Rockville, MD or Sterling, VA surrounding area and willing to be onsite when necessary. Only eligible for Permanent Status visas, and unable to work with sponsorship visas.

Requirements:
• 10+ years of network engineering experience supporting Cisco network infrastructure operations (Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ISE)
• Switches/routers, patching, vulnerability remediation, performance monitoring, VPNs, LAN/WAN/MAN, etc.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a hybrid Azure Cloud and on-prem data center environment (application hosting)
• Extensive experience with Azure networking services
• Experience with IPV6, OSPF, and/or BGP networking protocols
• Experience supporting a federal civilian agency/program
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust, Tier 2 clearance (successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process including fingerprinting)
• Excellent communication skills with self-starter, initiative taking mentality

Nice to have:
• Experience supporting HHS or NIH programs for the government

• OOB and QoS networking process experience

• Hands-on SolarWinds experience as well as Palo Alto firewalls

Responsibilities:
• Network Engineering, Administration, Patch Management, Vulnerability Remediation, Security Compliance, Performance Monitoring/Tuning

• 24x7x365 infrastructure operations support serving in on-call rotation, Hybrid Environment (Azure and on-prem)
• Working within team for successful completion of all tasks within the Statement of Work for assigned area of responsibility within server, storage, backup operations

• Will review monitoring tools to identify trends and proactive identification of potential customer impacting events
• Recommending changes to processes or procedures to improve efficiency or reduce costs in future projects.
