Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager who’s ready to take ownership of large-scale GIS and software integration projects within the electric and gas utility space. In this hands-on leadership role, the right person will guide cross-functional teams, ensure projects stay on schedule and budget, and provide the direction that drives successful outcomes. If you’re energized by managing complex, enterprise-wide initiatives that blend GIS, IT, and utilities, this ones for you!
Requirements:
7+ years managing complex IT and/or GIS implementation projects for electric or gas utilities where you have lead Esri GIS system implementation and integration initiatives.
Experience overseeing software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing/defect tracking processes.
Deep understanding of project management standards, methodologies, and tools along.
Proven skills in resource planning, risk management, budgeting, and change management.
Excellent client communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Nice to have:
Professional Services or consulting organization experience.
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Background managing multi-phase utility GIS modernization or digital transformation programs, specifically with Esri’s Utility Network.
Familiarity with Esri’s Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and GIS integration best practices.
Responsibilities:
Lead full lifecycle project management for GIS and IT integration projects—from kickoff through delivery.
Define scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
Oversee cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
Coordinate with internal departments and client stakeholders for alignment and transparency managing risks, and adjusting schedules/resources as priorities evolve.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting per PMO standards.
Drive change management efforts and support proposal development and cost estimation.
Supervise and mentor project staff, ensuring quality control across all deliverables.
