Job Description:
We are seeking a senior a VP of Sales with deep metallurgy and steel-industry expertise to build, lead, and scale a high-impact sales organization. This individual will own complex, long-cycle equipment sales while developing go-to-market strategy, managing key accounts, and laying the foundation for a scalable global sales function. The role combines hands-on selling with strategic leadership and offers a clear path to leading the company’s sales division.
Requirements:
• 10+ Years of Metallurgy/Steel Sales – selling heavy industrial equipment specifically for blast furnaces, melt shops, or rolling mills
• Proven track record of building a sales department from scratch, including KPI setting, and GTM strategy development
• Ability to negotiate multi-million dollar MSAs, including TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) modeling and raw material escalation clauses
• Demonstrated success in maintaining a personal sales quota while simultaneously managing international sales agents and channel partners
• Success in navigating 12–18 month sales cycles by gaining consensus across C-suite, engineering, and procurement teams
Nice to have:
• Experience working at one of the following companies Danieli, Primetals, or SMS Group
Responsibilities:
• Identify and close new business opportunities within the steel, mining, and metallurgical industries
• Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and cold outreach through contract close
• Drive complex industrial equipment sales across assigned regions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers
• Manage and grow key accounts to support long-term strategic partnerships
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and technical teams to deliver tailored, manufacturable solutions
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the organization, laying the foundation to scale and lead the sales division
• Serve as a hands-on, “player-coach” sales leader while building and developing a high-performing sales team over time
• Expand market coverage through direct sales, sales agents, and channel partners
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to consistently meet or exceed sales and growth targets
