Lead IT Project Manager

Job Description:
Our customer is launching a multi-year infrastructure modernization initiative to consolidate a highly distributed server environment spanning legacy data centers, cloud platforms, and smaller onsite server environments at engineering and manufacturing locations (“edge” sites). The goal is to standardize infrastructure by migrating appropriate workloads into a centralized COLO data center, moving others to Azure cloud, and modernizing edge environments that must remain onsite. They are seeking an Infrastructure Program Manager to lead this initiative across multiple infrastructure workstreams, coordinating efforts across internal infrastructure teams, engineering organizations, and strategic MSP partners responsible for executing the migrations.

Requirements:
• 8+ years of IT Infrastructure Program / Project Management experience leading enterprise data center, COLO, or hybrid infrastructure transformation initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience leading large-scale infrastructure programs including data center consolidation, COLO build-outs, workload migrations, and hybrid environments spanning on-prem and public cloud (~90% Azure / ~10% AWS).
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional infrastructure teams and managed service providers (MSPs) delivering infrastructure migration and modernization programs.
• Experience managing program budgets, SOW development, vendor engagements, and infrastructure financial governance (cost allocation, chargeback/showback, or FinOps-style reporting).
• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years relevant experience, graduate degree with 7+ years’ experience, or 13+ years related experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice to have:
• Aerospace/Defense or other highly regulated industry experience.
• PMI certification or Agile/Scrum background.

Responsibilities:
• Lead delivery of the COLO consolidation and edge modernization roadmap across multiple infrastructure workstreams.
• Coordinate execution across internal infrastructure teams, engineering organizations, and MSP partners responsible for infrastructure migrations and platform modernization.
• Manage full lifecycle program delivery including planning, prioritization, migration execution, and program closeout.
• Facilitate infrastructure discussions and drive alignment on workload placement across on-prem, COLO, and Azure environments.
• Manage vendors, contracts, SLAs, and delivery outcomes to ensure milestones, timelines, and performance targets are met.
• Provide executive-level reporting on program progress, infrastructure consolidation milestones, operational improvements, and cost optimization.
• Partner with Finance on infrastructure cost modeling, budgeting, and service economics tied to the modernization initiative.
