Network Ops Engineer

Job Description:
Our top client is hiring Network Operations Engineers for a massive program on the NOC floor supporting DISA/DoD customers. This is a primarily remote login/VPN engineering and troubleshooting role, where you will gain access to troubleshoot networks, devices, and firewalls across a very large, complex, and highly resilient enterprise network. Positions support 24×7 NOC operations. Huge opportunity to contribute to the stability and overall management of mission critical networks across the globe!
SHIFT REQUIREMENT:
• First 90 days: rotates through all three shifts (1 month on each shift)
o Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
o Swings: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
o Mids: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Requirements:
• 2-7+ years of hands-on network troubleshooting/engineering experience (Cisco & Juniper preferred, others include HPE/Aruba, Palo Alto, Broadcom)
o Hands-on experience logging into remote access VPN network devices and performing commands (CLI) for troubleshooting
• Active Secret clearance REQUIRED
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification REQUIRED (active, PDF downloaded directly from CompTIA prior to submission)

Nice to have:
• Prior military or enterprise NOC experience
• B.S. Degree
• Additional vendor certifications beyond minimum requirement (JNCIA/JNCIS, higher-level Cisco credentials)

Responsibilities:
• Remotely monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves issues across a large-scale enterprise network supporting 24×7 operations
• Reviews firewall rules/ACLs and logs to identify and resolve network path issues
• Performs shift-based NOC duties, rotating through all shift blocks during initial onboarding and maintaining flexibility for reassignment based on mission need
• Collaborates with NOC leads and other technicians to maintain secure, reliable, uninterrupted network availability
• Documents troubleshooting steps and escalates issues per program procedures
