Application Engineer
DALLAS TX | Healthcare - Health Services | Posted: 1 day ago |
Job Description:
This Application Engineer role is focused specifically on preventative maintenance and ongoing service of diagnostic equipment within clinical labs, histology labs, hospitals, and other healthcare environments. Unlike traditional Application Engineers who focus heavily on new equipment installation and training, these individuals will own scheduled Preventative Maintenance work including equipment inspections, calibration, lubrication, adjustments, and general upkeep. You’ll work independently in the field while partnering with the Technical Support team and customers to ensure equipment is properly maintained, service schedules are completed, and potential issues are identified before they impact operations. This is a great opportunity to join as they continue going through some major growth!
Requirements:
• 3+ years of hands-on field service, preventative maintenance, equipment maintenance, or application engineering experience within a clinical lab, histology lab, medical device, diagnostics, or similar healthcare environment
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to work with computers, software, connectivity, and basic IT-related equipment issues within a healthcare setting
• Previous experience working directly with customers and independently managing a field service schedule
• Ability to travel across the U.S. approximately 3 weeks each month to support scheduled preventative maintenance
Nice to have:
• Experience using Zoho or a similar CRM, service ticketing, or field service management platform
Responsibilities:
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on hardware systems, including Fina, Crystal, Hydra, and other diagnostic equipment
• Complete equipment inspections, calibration, lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, and other routine maintenance activities to ensure systems continue operating properly
• Perform light mechanical work, including removing equipment covers, accessing internal components, completing required maintenance, and reassembling equipment
• Receive PM assignments through Technical Support team and Zoho and independently manage assigned customer visits and service schedules
• Perform basic hardware, software, and connectivity troubleshooting while on-site and partner with customer IT teams when necessary
• Communicate directly with lab teams and customers regarding completed maintenance, equipment status, recommended follow-up, and proper system care
• Maintain detailed service records, PM completion documentation, and customer activity within Zoho and internal systems
• Serve as an on-site technical resource for customers while maintaining a strong customer experience
• Support growing national customer base as the organization continues to expand its equipment footprint
