TMO Project Manager
PHOENIX AZ | Manufacturing | Posted: 16 hours ago |
Job Description:
This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something that is genuinely being built in real time. The Traffic Management Office is a new and evolving function within the company that is growing fast, serving some of the biggest names in fiber infrastructure at a moment when nationwide broadband buildout is at an all-time high. You won’t be stepping into a rigid, fully defined role, you’ll be helping shape what this function looks like, influencing the tools, processes, and playbooks that the team will run for years to come. Beyond the work itself, you’ll develop deep relationships with enterprise-level clients and get exposure to the full construction lifecycle of large-scale OSP projects, which is a skillset that travels well and will only become more valuable as infrastructure investment continues to grow. If you’re someone who is early in your career, hungry to prove yourself, and looking for a role that offers real visibility, real ownership, and a clear path to a permanent position, this is exactly that kind of opportunity.
Requirements:
• 2–5 years Project Coordination or Program Management in Construction Telecom, Outside Plan (OSP) Construction, Fiber to the Home (FTTH) experience preferred
• Familiarity coordinating outside plant (OSP) construction projects from the planning side, specifically working with engineering prints, construction plan sets, or permit documentation to help schedule, forecast, or track fiber, conduit, or utility installation work across multiple active crews or markets
• Smartsheet experience building and managing project workflows, creating and maintaining demand tracking sheets, assigning and monitoring tasks, and generating reporting dashboards.
• Strong communicator who is comfortable managing customer relationships and working with internal teams diplomatically to keep things on track
• Organized and self-sufficient with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, less structured environment where no two weeks look the same
Nice to have:
• Experience working directly with fiber service providers or prime/sub contractor networks on large-scale infrastructure buildouts, with an understanding of how construction schedules, engineering deliverables, and field execution connect at the enterprise level
• Exposure to demand forecasting or budgetary planning for construction services — specifically helping clients understand and anticipate future costs in a space where traffic control or similar field services have historically been unplanned or underbudgeted
Responsibilities:
• Obtain and ingest OSP engineering prints from fiber service providers, either through direct system access or client-provided documentation, and organize them into the internal Smartsheet workflow for engineering review and assignment
• Build and maintain 30/60/90-day traffic control demand forecasts for assigned clients, translating engineering data into actionable project backlogs that the internal operations team can plan and staff against
• Serve as the primary customer-facing point of contact for assigned fiber clients, owning recurring planning meetings with construction managers and project leads to stay aligned on schedule changes, crew movements, and upcoming demand shifts
• Manage internal Smartsheet workflows end to end — assigning tasks to the engineering team, tracking completion against requested deadlines, and ensuring all deliverables are produced and delivered back to the client on time
• Deliver accurate budgetary traffic control estimates to clients ahead of construction activity, giving them visibility into upcoming costs in a space that has historically been unplanned and reactive
• Coordinate proactively with internal operations teams to communicate future demand, flag high-utilization periods, and ensure the field workforce is positioned to never turn down work from a key account
• Support weekly billing cycles by ensuring the billing team has all necessary job documentation, site information, and completed work records to produce accurate and timely invoices
• Monitor active construction schedules and adjust demand forecasts in real time as clients add markets, shift crews, delay permits, or change build priorities across their footprint
• Provide light but consistent oversight of internal operations on key accounts — professionally and diplomatically ensuring that high-priority customers receive the attention and execution quality they require without overstepping operational ownership
• Continuously evaluate and improve TMO processes, templates, and SOPs as the program scales into new clients and markets, bringing a process-improvement mindset to every stage of the customer lifecycle
